Hi, I’m Fr. Bo and this is my website / priestly side gig.

I am a Ukrainian Catholic parish Priest who serves in the Eparchy of Edmonton, who also loves to paint traditional icons and create things out of wood.

I am known for working with young people in parishes, at Camp and in Catholic Schools. Sometimes even online.

I am married to the most awesome teacher, and we have three adult children. Most of the time I am the most childish of us all. I am often joyful, sometimes serious, but seldom formal.

I do both commissioned and charity projects in my spare time for the glory of God, and sometimes to help me feed my kids.

Education:

  • Philosophy at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.
  • Lay Collaborator with the Redemptorist Priests at the Welcome Home in Winnipeg.
  • Monastic observation at Holy Transfiguration Monastery (Mt. Tabor) in California.
  • Iconography under various teachers, especially from Abbot Damien Higgins, the Prosopon School of Iconography, Fr. Vladimir Lesak, and several others, 1985 – ongoing
  • Priestly formation at Holy Spirit Seminary in Ottawa, 1997 – 2000
  • Ecclesial Batchelor of Theology Eastern Christian Studies, from Sheptytsky Institute through St. Paul University in Ottawa. 1997 – 2000
  • Listening to my wife, and raising kids, has taught me more than all the other schooling I’ve done put together.
